Funding finalised for Armadale Senior Football Club
WA Liberal Senator Linda Reynolds has welcomed the signing of contracts for the $50,000 upgrade facilities at the Armadale Senior Football Club.
Senator Reynolds said it was an important next step in delivering the upgrade.
“This funding will allow the Armadale Football club to extend the clubrooms’ covered verandah area and also to purchase an electronic scoreboard,” she said.
“Children and families living in Armadale deserve the same level of community facilities as elsewhere in Perth and I’m delighted to have fought for and been able to deliver the funding for this upgrade.”
Armadale Football Club President Robert Sutherland said the upgrade would improve games for both spectators and players.
“At the moment we have half a verandah, which doesn’t provide a lot of coverage from the rain or the sun,” he said.
“Extending the verandah will be great for the spectators and the electronic score boards means both they and the players will all be able to keep better track of the game.”
While the Federal Government is funding the upgrade, the Armadale Senior Football Club will manage its delivery.
The upgrade is expected to be completed by December 31 this year.
